Postcard Printing

Correctly set-up PDF or image files go directly into production. No proof step is needed, which keeps your turnaround time as fast as possible. If your file has issues such as incorrect sizing or missing bleeds, our team will contact you before printing. Digital proofs are available on request.

If you would prefer a physical hard-copy proof mailed to you before full production runs, select that option on the order form. Note that this adds both time and cost to your order.

Production time varies based on the options selected. Enter your ZIP code in the delivery estimator on the order form to see current turnaround times and shipping costs for your specific job. For mailing orders, USPS delivery time is added on top of production and shipping time.

Postcards are printed on a wide variety of sizes, both for mailing and non-mailing purposes. Typical postcard sizes are 4x6", 5x7", 5.5x8.5", and 6x9", though it is not uncommon to see postcards printed as large as 9x12".

Most postcards are printed on 100# Cover Gloss or Smooth. This heavy card stock is common for business cards, postcards and book covers.

If you want something sturdier, we recommend the 16-pt Extra Thick Cover.

Another great option for postcards with bright graphics or photos is the 12-pt C1S. This is a sturdy card stock with a high-gloss finish on one side, and an uncoated surface on the other (so it can be written on).

If you want the post office to deliver your postcards to every address within a custom targeted area, you'll want EDDM postcard printing instead. EDDM Postcard Mailing

Postage prices can vary depending on the service chosen, the postcard size, and occasional price increases from USPS. Enter your job details to see the current postage price.

PDF is strongly preferred. Make sure fonts are embedded and images are at least 300 DPI at the final print size. JPG and PNG files are also accepted, but a correctly set-up PDF will go directly into production with no delay.

Bleeds are strongly recommended if your design has color, photos, or graphics that extend to the edge of the postcard. Without a bleed, a thin white border will be present appear along the edges after trimming. A bleed involves extending your artwork slightly beyond the finished size so it can be trimmed cleanly.

Yes. Canva supports bleed setup and PDF export for print. Be sure to enable the bleed and crop mark options when exporting your file as a PDF (Print) for the best results.

1st Class mailing is the faster option. USPS estimates delivery within 1–5 business days, and undeliverable pieces are forwarded or returned. This is the best choice for time-sensitive campaigns.

3rd Class (Marketing Mail) costs less per piece but can take several weeks to deliver and does not include forwarding or return service. Choose this option when budget matters more than delivery speed.

Yes, for 1st Class and 3rd Class mailing you supply your own recipient list. It can be uploaded in the shopping cart or any time after placing your order. The list should be in CSV or Excel format with columns for name, address, city, state, and ZIP code.

If you want to mail to every address in a geographic area without a list, Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) may be a better fit. EDDM Postcard Mailing

3rd Class (Marketing Mail) offers the lowest postage rate for bulk campaigns where delivery timing is flexible. For neighborhood or route-based campaigns, Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) is often even more affordable per piece since no purchased mailing list is required.

Yes. Check the I need multiple versions option on the order form and enter the number of versions you need. Each version can have different artwork while sharing the same paper, size, and finishing specs.

C1S (Coated 1 Side) has a glossy finish on the front and an uncoated back. This is a popular choice for mailed postcards because addresses, ink, and handwriting adhere better to the uncoated side. C2S (Coated 2 Sides) is coated on both sides and is best suited for hand-distribution, displays, or any use where the back does not need to be written on.
