Spiral notebooks are extremely durable and customizable. The flexible plastic coils are crush-resistant and allow pages to be turned a full 360° and laid flat, which is perfect for notebooks that will be used in industrial settings or on-the-go. Wire-o Bound Notebooks
We also offer wire-bound notebooks for a more professional and sophisticated product. Like spiral bound notebooks, you can turn the pages around a full 360°. But please be aware these do not lay perfectly flat while flipped around like the spiral books do, which may not be ideal for some uses.
Perfect Bound Notebooks
Perfect binding is a good option for composition notebooks, sketch books and other creative uses.

Saddle Stitched (Stapled) Notebooks
Saddle stitch binding folds the notebook sheets in half, then inserts 2 staples through the folded spine to create a stapled booklet. These can be ordered on the Saddle Stitch Booklet page. Just let us know in the Job Notes if you want to use one of our lined paper templates.

What kind of binding is best for custom notebooks?
For most uses, we recommend spiral binding when printing custom notebooks for every day use. While the metal Wire-o binding is very attractive and professional looking, spiral notebooks have several advantages:
- Lowest cost for most sizes/options
- Most durable and long-lasting
- Lays flat with pages turned 360°
Whichever binding method you choose for your custom notebooks, you'll be pleased to find an assortment of binding colors and cover materials to match your theme.
Can I get a custom size notebook?
Absolutely! You'll find a wide range of sizes in the dropdown list. If none of these dimensions work for your custom notebook project, choose the next standard size up and click "Need a Custom Size" to enter your desired dimensions.
Can you make graph paper notebooks?
Yes we can. Students, architects and contractors rely on precision-ruled 4x4 quad paper for measuring and calculations every day.
Choose the 4x4 Quad ruled paper option on the dropdown (4 squares per square inch) for custom graphing notebooks.
What kind of paper do custom notebooks use?
We recommend 20/50# Bond or 24/60# Text Smooth for most notebooks. If the notebooks will be used for artwork or coloring rather than just writing, consider upgrading to the 28/70# Text Smooth or 32/80# Text Smooth to reduce show-through.
Will I receive a digital proof before you print my notebooks?
In most cases, we do not automatically send a digital proof. If you do want a digital proof first, no problem! Just request this in the Job Notes. The reason for this is that the vast majority of files are setup correctly and require no reformatting or proofing. Most customers also want their job as fast as possible. Unfortunately with email, there is always the risk that the digital proof could end up in the Spam, Junk or Promotions folder, which is more likely to cause a delay in production than it is to stop a misprint from occurring.
But there are some cases in which we must receive proof approval before we can print. This includes:
- Files which are not uploaded as JPG, PNG or PDF
- Any time we make file edits at your request
- If we happen to notice something that looks "wrong" but aren't sure
