Boots for Troops!

DocuCopies.com Donates $2K to Send Boots to Deployed US Troops

"Supplies come at great hazard to those transporting them, and the items that make the difference between hazardous duty and hideous duty often just don't make it."

In honor of Veteran's Day, DocuCopies.com donated $2,000 to a San Luis Obispo charity which sends much-needed supplies to members of the United States Armed Forces deployed throughout the world.

Despite the size of America's defense budget, various factors can make transporting even basic supplies difficult and dangerous. In addition to improving their own day to day lives, troops often share things like books, pens, pencils, toys and candy with local children in the areas they're deployed.

Si Tenenberg, a retired Marine living in SLO, runs this organization and gets letters from troops expressing their gratitude and occasionally their additional needs.

DocuCopies.com president and CEO, David Pressley, is a veteran of the US Army 101st Airborne, aka the "Screaming Eagles," and was honored to help out. In a strange twist, Tenenberg recently informed DocuCopies.com that the boots which Pressley wanted this donation to buy were shipped to members of the 101st Airborne who'd recently been deployed to Liberia.
