How can EDDM postcards grow my business?

EDDM (Every Door Direct Mail) postcards can be an effective marketing tool to help you grow your business. Here are several ways targeted direct mailing can benefit your business:

Targeted Local Mailing: EDDM postcards allow you to target specific geographical areas, such as neighborhoods or ZIP codes, to reach potential customers in your local area. This targeted approach ensures that your marketing efforts are focused on the areas most likely to generate business for you.

Cost-Effective: Postcards are a cost-effective marketing solution compared to other traditional advertising methods. Since you're not required to purchase a mailing list or pay for individual addresses, you can save on the costs associated with traditional direct mail campaigns. EDDM mailing is cheaper than a typical bulk permit, too.

Increased Visibility: By mailing postcards directly to households in your chosen area, you can increase your business's visibility and reach a wide audience. EDDM postcards are designed to catch attention, and they provide a tangible and visual representation of your brand, products, or services.

Brand Awareness: Consistently sending EDDM postcards to your target audience helps build brand awareness. By repeatedly exposing potential customers to your brand, you establish recognition and familiarity, which can lead to increased trust and loyalty.

Targeted Offers and Promotions: EDDM postcards allow you to highlight specific offers, promotions, or events happening in your business. You can tailor your message to suit the needs and preferences of your target audience, making it more likely to resonate with them and encourage them to take action.

Measurable Results: EDDM postcards offer a measurable marketing channel. By including unique discount codes, tracking URLs, or dedicated phone numbers on your postcards, you can track the response rate and determine the effectiveness of your campaign. This data helps you assess the return on investment and make data-driven decisions for future marketing efforts.

Local Community Connection: EDDM postcards provide an opportunity to establish a connection with your local community. By showcasing your business and its involvement in community events or initiatives, you can position yourself as a trusted and valued local establishment.

Remember, to maximize the impact of your EDDM postcard campaign, it's important to create compelling designs, craft engaging copy, and have a clear call-to-action. Additionally, ensure that your postcards reflect your brand identity and communicate your unique value proposition effectively.

All Every Door Direct Mail piece must have the entire mailing label on the "top half" of the piece. The orientation of the label, whether it's applied on the long or short side, does not matter (except that labels placed parallel to the shortest end must not be upside down). The shortest end will always be the top half of the piece. Length is always the longest side. (Example below)

EDDM Printing FAQ

What EDDM postcard sizes are most popular?

The most popular sizes for EDDM postcard mailing are 6.25x9, 6.25x11 and 8.5x11.

The United States Postal Service has specific size requirements that must be met for EDDM postcard mailing. But, as is typical with government websites, their description of the dimensional requirements is very convoluted.

We've selected common USPS-approved sizes as preset options above.

How is EDDM mailing different than bulk mail?

Direct mail with a bulk mailing permit requires a mailing list. So if you're trying to mail to a list of clients or customers whose addresses you already have, you'll want to go here instead.

Every Door Direct Mail is intended for everyone else. With EDDM mailing, you select the specific mail routes that you want your postcards or booklets delivered. We print your materials and bring them to our local USPS office, and they handle the rest.

The addressing area on the postcard will be generic; so rather than saying "John Smith, 742 Evergreen Terrace..." it will say "POSTAL CUSTOMER" followed by a string of internal routing numbers.

How reliable and effective is Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM)?

Unfortunately, the postal service has very limited tracking for EDDM services. The most you'll be able to see in most cases is that they were delivered to the local USPS center for final distribution.

Naturally, this generates some skepticism, since government employees and their daily tasks are not often accountable to the general public. The best way to gauge how well your EDDM campaign is working (being delivered) is to include yourself, some friends or family in your target delivery routes. You can then follow up with them directly (about 2 weeks should be enough time) to make sure that they received the mailers.

Since the delivery portion of this service is beyond our purview, we cannot guarantee that the final delivery is made, nor can we reprint or refund EDDM mailing services.
